ABOUT

Art has always played a consistent element within my life, but during lockdown 2020 was where I had the time to develop my practice further.

During this time art became a sanctuary for me. I created a 100 day art project that forced me to create consistently which boosted my motivation to create more. I started to refine my artwork focusing mostly on portraiture through adopting a more traditional painting style, For instance creating an under painting to establish values and mixing this with my own painting style which can be described as graphic and illustrative. At this time I restricted myself to a set palette which has helped me create a clear aesthetic to my work.

A screenprint of a waterfall landscape created with multiple layers of different colours. The main image is then inside a mount board which has some of the rocks from the waterfall to create a sense that the piece is confined to the rectangle shape.

This self portrait was painted on a square brown board with acrylic paint. In the middle of the square is me facing to the left wearing sunglasses and my hair in a ponytail. I'm wearing a coral red dress and the background is green. The brushstrokes are large and blocky.

An Image of a folded sou' wester hat painted on with thick acrylic paint. This is my interpretation of the painting Rain- Auvers by Vincent van Gogh. The painting shows a landscape being dampened by rain.

A picture of 113 piece of artwork of me in different areas of my room. Like sitting at my desk, Lying on my bed, on my sofa and sitting in my window. The pieces of artwork are displayed in a way that looks like a patchwork of colours as each artwork used the colours, red, orange, pink, green, blue, black or brown.

In this image there are two hand reaching upwards. The left hand is facing us with an open palm that is covered in a dark shadow. The right is folded and is resting on the left palm. The back of the right hand is covered in shadow. The painting is on a A4 sized mount board which is this rich crimson red.

On a postcard sized canvas board there is a portrait of David Bowie slightly facing to the left. The left side of his face is in shadow and he is wearing a knitted whited jumper. The portrait is done with brown acrylic paint that was watered down to create different values. His expression is serious but he has a slight smirk.

The piece is on a 8" x 6" silver frame. The painting is directly coming down from the top of the frame in the middle. This paint is of an arm streching down to the bottom of the frame. Her arm is opened but relaxed and in a reaching motion. To tie in with the colour of the frame the arm is coming out of a grey loosely worn sleeve, which is rolled at the elbow.
